Method for playing the saves?

This is a discussion on how to handle the saves as they come in. I would volunteer to play the savs but after Sherry has her baby, I doubt that she'll let me back on the computer until she gets over the baby insanity.

Are we playing this as a SG, (ie. Have a thread to post "got it"s in?) or are we going to play it like a demo game and have one or two people play?

As we will have a limited time to turn it around, a succession game "Got It" may be more flexible to keep it moving.

I like to idea of a quick turnaround. I have full confidence we can discuss like a SG and keep it moving regardless of who plays the saves.

After all if we did it with only 2 people ever playing a PBEM in the MTDG then I see no reason we couldn't do it in this game.

Also everyone (who plans on playing) needs to get comfortable with the strategy layer when you zoom out. I plan on placing signs all over the place. maybe some lines and such too.

If you've never used it, press F11 (globe view), then select the icon on the far left of the row right above the minimap. It will allow you to place signs in the fog, but lines have to at least in the shadows

These signs will allow for us to communicate between turn players and make sure nothing important is missed (ig: barbs popping in and out of fog, other civs' scouts, future city locations, location of wine )

I've not used the strategy layer, I'll have to check it out. I certainly wouldn't want to miss the location of wine!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next patch will solve my floodplains problem so I can take my turn and play.

Don't the signs, lines, and other things on the strategy layer disappear after the game is turned off? They never stay for me, at least.

I don't think so... But I can run a test. In DS's mega-Pitboss game, I have signs on there (do to failing memory in my old age of 29) and it's has had to be restarted a couple of times.
