GOTM 03 - results & congratulations!

After Hendrickszoon set the pace in the first two GOTMs, we have a new gold-medal winner. After grabbing the silver last month, Grey Cardinal went one-better this month, taking gold with a 1335AD Domination Victory. In second place, deluche also picked-up the fastest conquest with a 450 AD victory. Third place and the bronze medal went to memphus.

That was my second spaceship attempt, well, not sure if I should really count the first which was more a plan B after my diplo plans went sour.

I kinda like DaveMcW GSR ranking, I guess its related to the fact that I am higher up than in the normal one ...

450AD !!! I am impressed. we do need to know what was his tech path. He should have been able to spit out samurais way before 300BC; if not, they wouldn't have had the time to get to the other side of the map... am I wrong?

I checked his save, it seems he conquered the world with horse archers and axemen.

Great date, deluche! I'll definitely have a look at your save. Now i think all those people who conquered the world with samurais and knights (me, hendricszoon, Ronald and others) greatly overestimated the AI. The game was on pangaea after all and the level was just monarch.

Hi toto I've downloaded the save file couse I was impressed about how fast came this win....

million gold per turn: above under -400...lol
Unit built: about 65 horse archers, and axemen....At the end of the game many cities were unprotected at all (0 units)
workers: 50, built 23(?), great chop work
no currency, research stopped at drama, I didn't noticed teathers...
No wonders.

Overestimated? I thought the usual thing was to underestimate the AI and then get conquered as a result
