No Barbarians setting in current Game - or Map?
Hi, Im completely new to civ4 editing but did't find what Im looking for in any searches.
I downloaded Aeric76's Earth map and found out only later that it is set to raging barbarians which actually pretty sucks for me. Now Im pretty late in the game and would like to know, if I can change the setting to "No Barbarians" somehow? If theres no way how can I change it for a new map? Btw I tried YAME and didn't find any options to determine the barbarian level

I hate to bump, but the barbarian setting must be a basic feature known to the comunity on how to alter. |

Try opening the .wbs file with notepad. The setting might be stored there.

I did open it and changed the gameoption apropetely. However when i tried to open the map save as a scenario and via mapbuilder, but had to shut it down, since after half an hour it was still loading.
It might be because i was already in the 233rd turn, but if you know anything plz tell me. So know I have to try another earth map. Does anyone know one which has the no barbarian setting? And in order to compare sizes does anyone know how big Aeric's map is? YxY? |

 Im going crazy here!!!!!!!! Having accepted my fate that I had to start all over again, leaving my already built empire behind, nothing works with the new map. I can change a map in notepad so, that out of normal and no-barbarian setting becomes raging. But i can't change it from raging to no-barbarians. When I exchange "raging" for "no" in notepad in the game it tells me under setting that all options are default! So still fricking barbarians. Plz help me! |

   PRAISED BE PERSEVERANCE!!!  I had almost given up, but then I gave it one more try and the solution worked. I guess Im going to post a tutorial soon on how to edit already existing maps and succeeding
