1.52 Air - air combat
A recent testing with more than 200 air combat revealed that there is no chance for an attacker to fight successfully against the defender's air forces.
I tested 200 attacks of attacking fighters vs defending fighters, resulting in 49% complete losses of the attacker, with 0 % (absolutely 0) loss for the defender. Additionally, in 24%, the defender was able to intercept the attacker. In only 26%, the attacker intercepted the defender. In general, the percentage of damage at the defender's side was considerably lower than the percentage of damage at the attacker's side, thus allowing the defender to have his air forces available for new air combat quicker. To avoid any impact of city defenses (although they shouldn't play any role in air combat), 100 fights were done attacking from a city with 60% defense against another city with 60% as well. The second set of fights was with both cities having 0% defense. Edit: Corrected patch version

this is another point which is showing us that defense is again much more stronger than attack in civ4.
when you fight on da ground the AI automatically choose the best defender in the stack regarding the attacking unit. when you fight for air supremacy you've better defend until enemy's planes are out of order there should be some small balance !!!! ps: i'm 1oo posts old!!! kakayaaaa viva civfanatica |
