I could have sworn I read an 'end of 2006' release date somwhere. The game looks pretty much completed, at any rate, given the videos released.

The time they complete developing it really doesn't have a definite effect on the release date. That is entirely up to the publisher. They will want to hit the public at a suitable time (christmas, summer).
