Go to "ArtDefinesCivilization.xml" and find the line for the flag. There is a switch there (bWhite), probably set to '0'. Change it to '1'.

^actually I believe that's the fix if you get the civ's color in the flag where it should be white. The fix for this I believe is coloring th e alpha channel to black. And changing it from 0 to 1 if it's not already like that.

Do you know where the flag DDS is? Find that file and open it with DXTBmp (freeware). That program shows the main image in the main window, and the alpha image in a smaller window to the right.

Double-click on the alpha image to open it in MS Paint (or Paint Shop Pro, etc.). Then re-colour the image black, save in Paint, and in DXTBmp use the refresh button for the Alpha window.

Save.

You wouldnt happen to know why it wont save my alpha as black would you? I paint it black, save. refresh (comes up black), save. Then if I open the save dds again it is back to white.

It's supposed to be like that make sure u save the file under dds 3 when u Save As. Check to see if the flag appears in the game.
