Hard Drive question
ok folks, heres a question.
I have a 2nd computer that ive let someone else use, and well i tossed his butt outta my house. SO what i want to do is delete all his info on the computer. BUT i dont want have to buy a new XP Pro copy... its huge $$$ well for me it is. So heres my question. Cam I just delete all and i mean ALL of his krap off it but still use the same copy of windows? I know i could just pop the CD in, and F disk it, problem is, I lost the cd. little help?

make a new administrator user account, and delete his. of course first go to add remove programs and uninstall anything you down't want there.

thanks but if there is one already what then? i dont know if there is but i wanna be prepared. and will that delete all his music and photos and stuff or will I have to do that manually

If it's an OEM computer (Dell, HP, etc) you should be able to get a CD from them fairly cheap. $10 or so.
If it's using normal XP Pro, Retail or OEM that you bought yourself, if you have another disk of the type (OEM or Retail) it will work just fine to install it.... assuming of course that you still have the activation key.

FYI, the activation keys (the little sticker that it's on) is the main evidence that you own a legal copy of Windows. In fact technically, if you read the fine print from MS, it's required that you place them on the case of the comp and that they stay with that comp.
Not that anyone does that, but they're something that you want to keep around.
