The Free For All Forum!
No this isnt a spam thread. well technically it is, but then again it SOOO isnt.
We just ought to have a free-for all forum. In this forum, there would be two sub-forums, called A) The Sub Forum for the Manner of Threads Which Would Have Otherwise Been Clasified as Spam and B) The Sub Forum in Which We Discuss Topics in a Mature and Civilized Manner by Bashing the Poster Not the Idea. My idea for this stems from the fact that i see what are interpereted as spam threads or posts all over this site all the time and I'm sure it gives the mods a real headache to hunt down, close, move warn, what-have-you. Also, people seem to find it easier to beat the living cyber-crap out of each other, especially in OT ( the bloody DIE PERFECTION picture comes to mind). Well, if we had our own forum for this, then you wouldnt have to close the spam/abuse threads, you could just move them. Unless, of course, it is still sufficiently salvagable, then do with it what you will. The point is, that there is a time and a place for everything, so if we had such a forum there would be a place for it. Imagine, once the forum gets up and running, how much easier it will be to patrol the other forums! This new one would probably require a mod or two, to make sure that the material and converstations in this new forum were sufficiently abusive and or off topic, else they need be warned and have the thread moved. I know it seems like a renewal of the old work we'd be getting rid of with the creation of the new forum and all, but its really not. In fact, it's much easier, since now its realy just two mods who have to guard against not spamming or abusing, which is going to be much less common in a fourm made for such activities. Of course, the abuse forum, aka The Sub Forum in Which We Discuss Topics in a Mature and Civilized Manner by Bashing the Poster Not the Idea would be much like the OT is now, but it would be allowed to evolve as the conversation/argument/slugfest carries on. The need for this new forum and sub-forums is apparent. I believe CFC requires a place for such nonsense i mean creative expansion of the capabilites of one's language comprehension to take place. In the least, it would be a source of entertainment for the mods and users. The only question that remains is: who amongst us is most capabe of tackling the inexorabe march of the spammers and abusers as a moderator?

Why would this be any different to allowing abuse etc in OT?
Spam forums have been tried before - and failed. Bad idea. |

It would be different because then there would be a place for it. If people wanted to participate in this kind of thing, then they could go to the new forum. If they were more for the quiet discussion, they could remain in OT. Let's face it, there are dfinietly people out there who come into Dodge looking for a fight, and this gives them a place to do it, at the very least only to themselves.
How did a spam forum fail? I would think it would have no end to new threads?

Yes, there are *some* that tend to be OK & mildly amusing, but I think they're the minority. |

Make it no posts are counted and I'm in!
Ainwood, heres what I think. If we have a spammish place to let off steam (Nothing serious is allowed) it'll really cut down of the annoyance factor. And here you go: There could be special "Moderators (Me and Perfection ) who would "moderate". It could let dome of us let some steam off, AND have a fun time.I'm all for this proposed new section!

ha, you would SO not be a mod, no more than I. Now Perf, maybe. We might have to bring back some true masters of the spam, like Stratego! Perf and Bozo would have to rock paper scissors for the other slot though

perhaps youve never seen some of Stratego's spam. It is truly humbling:

Fine, we'll include Stratego. We really need some funny posters come here and rally for a spam forum.

I dunno, I think it would be fun. Maybe make it have its own seperate post count. But, in regards to smiley-only posts, etc., maybe we could make threads for that. Then, people could have their fun doing that. If we started to have singular posts like that, the punishment would be that that entire thread would be merged into one of the smiley threads.
EDIT: Ouch. Reading that, it sounds like it was written by a twelve year old, and is filled with stupid ideas anyways. Next time, bash me when I post like this in our newly created spam forum. |

If you want a spam forum, you would need to create one yourself on one of those free forum sites.
