Not Civ3, but Sid Meier-related
Anybody know if Colonization or Colonization for Windows is available anywhere on the internet as freeware, or is it still being sold in stores?

It can still be found in some stores. When I was in London, I could also find old games from 1992, such as speed ball 2 (!!!!). Otherwise, some search engines (google) are powerful enough to help you

You may find it funny, but there still is stuff like abandonware, and I rather think Colonization is one of these guys. Ergo, You must find it in:
Underdogs Most of the good stuff could be found there

guys... I got some bad news... and some TRAJIC news...
