should we change our capital?

as for where exactley, that can be decided later, but suggested here. its the if I want to discuss for now.

should we move the capital? currentley, its on one edge of our empire and cities on the eastern islands have high waste and corr. THDP is our largest city also, and might be a candidate city. so the question is simplally this: should we look at changing the capital's location?

note- a yes vote dosent mean we WILL change it. it just means a poll will be posted, with all cities, and the question "what should the capital be" there is still a chance that olympia may win.

Right now the only place I can think of that has a strong arguement to move the capital there is THDP and it will be occupied with wonder building for a while, so I think we should keep things how they are for now.

No. Building a new capital will cost lots of resources and currently we have many much more urgent things to build.

Noo!

I want to at least keep the capital because I am still sore about losing THDP to ACM.

Yes, I agree with Stormbringer. The Holy Duck Pond is a good site for our capital. Phobos is pretty much the center of our empire.

actually, I was thinking of Potopolia or Fort Pornstar or somewhere on the eastern section of the island.

After looking at the map I desided that Protopolia is better than THDP

This discussion should really take place at some point in the future, but at the moment it would be foolish to waste vital shields in such an endeavour. We need the important wonders from this period to ensure our future dominance and don't forget that THDP still requires Newton's College and a university before we can even consider building other things. The change of capital will be academic when we change to Democracy anyway, so I say that it is entirely unnecessary to move it.

I agree that a palace is a bit too expensive to consider at the moment, but later I think Fort Pornstar or Athenae would be good candidates for capital

Why in the HECK would we want to move the capital?????

Guys, that's WAY too many shields to be basically wasted. What could possibly be the benefit?? Less corruption in our SSC? A more central palace to reduce corruption slightly??

I can solve all of that in one word: DEMOCRACY. No waste. We're only two techs removed from getting Democracy (just banking then democracy), and once we have Bach we can be there with little happiness problems as well.

This isn't Civ3 where your palace and Forbidden Palace location is key to survival. Corruption is rampant in Civ3 even in a democracy - and even in that game the thought of wasting time and production on building it from scratch is nuts. Most will use a leader to do so.

I don't mean to sound so harsh, but there are about a billion things better we could be using those shields on.

OK, I'm off my high horse now. Sorry.
