Official strategy guide?

I apologize in advance if this question is a repeat as I am new to this forum. My question is does anyone know if there will be an Official strategy guide printed for sale or if I will be forced to buy the E-guide from Bradygames. It may just be me but I don't like the idea of having to alt-tab everytime I want to check my strategy guide. I have the original Bradygames Civ IV guide but that doesn't apply that much now with the addition of new leader traits and buildings and units etc... This expansion has been out over a month now and I haven't been able to find a printed copy and I personally think that is bogus. Let me know if I am just missing something. Does anyone agree? thanks

What you will find on this forum is far better quality than any strategy guide ever printed. Also, there are comprehensive reference xls and pdfs to be found here, which you can access in a window or print out - and they're free.

Shameless plug: my beginners' strategy guide (link in my sig) is in printable PDF format. It's free but I will accept donations.

The 19.99 BradyGames guide got me from settler level to warlord level BUT that was with 1.00 It's out of date now. And overpriced. Try Sullla's guide, that got me to noble level. This site got me to prince level.

This site got me from losing every single game due to overexpansion, to mostly easy Monarch victories (Emperor, here we come!) A strategy guide for the latest version would be interesting to see, though, since the questions on the forum don't necessarily come in the order you learn the game.

Most definitely. The stuff that I've learned here has helped me increase my civ scores quite a bit when I'm doing a single player game. I also play with some friends online, and the knowledge from this forum has given me a good edge over them. Now, I jump to an early tech lead over them and can keep it until they decide to gang up and attack me at once.

Sisiutil's guide is probably better than any strategy guide you can buy.

This is definately better than a store bought book.

Official strategy guides are always rubbish. They're basically just an extention of the instruction manual. They're always released at the same time as the game... so before the players have come up with any good strategies.

Yes, i wish i could get my 15.95 back for that CRAPPY prima guide i ordered with the game. Due to it's rough paper texture, it's not even good as toilet paper.
