Civilization 4 100% CPU usage
Hi, I own Civilization 4 with patch 1.61 installed but the game uses 100% CPU usage and the framerate stutters... the game goes from 35% usage to 100% usage and then back again--this vicious cycle keeps repeating, and it takes away the joy from the game.
I use a mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo Video Card and I have a 2GHZ Intel Mobility Centrino Processor. I tried lowering all the settings to the lowest settings but it seems to have no effect. Anyone has a solution for this? Thanks! |

Not uncommon. Try clamping the framerate using the Civ4.ini file, look for the line:
; Set max frame rate clamp (0 means none) SetMaxFrameRate = 40 Try different framerates until you find a decent setting, it should lower the CPU usage without sluttering too much. |
