New Civ Suggestions

Since the Warlords version is going to come out soon thanks to Laurino, we should be able to add more civs and make the huge map less empty. I believe work has started on Urartu and Assyria, and they will be implemented soon. (According to Laurino) Anyway, here is what we have so far.

New civs for later versions list:

Urartu
Leader Argishti
UB Vishap (aqueduct)
UU Urartian Charioteer
Capital Tushpa

Assyria
info is unknown to me at the moment

Feel free to post suggestions. Some civs that I want included are Pontus and Armenia.

perhaps parthia under arsaces?

Parthia
Leader: Arsaces (Arsak)
Traits: Saddleback(( the parthian empire came from people who were originally nomadic, called daha[robbers] by the persians, they were a branch of the skythians origionally))
Spiritual (( arsak was crucial in the revival of zoroastrianism when he took seleukid land))
Imperialistic or expansive (( preferrably imperialistic as arsaces foundes the arsacid dynasty and the parthian empire, however i'm not sure if it's balanced, with his other traits, so if it isn't expansive would be good))

Unique Unit: Cataphract((katafractos in greek)): the parthian cataphracts were a feared troop, and crucial inthe formation of their empire, they were so effective, that the seleukids and even rome itself (( byzantines)) adopted them.

Unique building: Paradise garden (( the exact name escapes me, but they were a form of Paradise gardens)) replaces public baths, extra effects +2 culture

I got all the info for Troy and Assyria, if it's decided to include them.

Hmm... Parthia sounds ok. I like the Nimudian idea a lot, but what really gets me is Troy. It was just a Greek Ionian colony wasn't it? I think for that area the Phrygians would fit much better. Their capital was Gordion (Gordium).

Numidians are on the huge map. You are talking about the people south of Egypt, right?

Edit: I dislike how the Numidians and the Lydians have the same (super-powerful) traits: financial and productive. Any chance of changing that up a bit?

No, your mistaking Numidian for Nubian. The Numidians were a North African people who were to the West of Carthage. Carthage used them as mercenaries, but they rebelled from time to time.

Oh... right.

Nevermind. Well, I dislike how the Nubians and the Lydians have the same (non-combat) traits.

Yes, once Laurino releases the first Warlords version I am going to take it and fix many of those traits.

Guys, can the average system handle extra civs? The game on the huge map is already sluggish between turns as it is. Adding more will just exacerbate the situation.

Just something to think about.

Well, I suppose we can have two versions of the map, one with the civs now, and one with more civs for people who have a good computer. I have a nice computer which is why I'd like to have more civs.

It's true for me, also.
I started a game on huge map, but I abandoned it at mid-game.

Now I'm playing fine on Normal - 16civs map, having a lot of fun.

Well, I finally finished a game on the Huge map on Monarch as Boudicca, with a grand total of 97 cities, all of Europe, Turkey & Palestine under my grip & the Caucasus. The Caspian sea, for example seems very lonely. & some res changes are needed on the huge map, for example, there are no clams?

The inclusion of the Urartians under Argishti should remedy the lonely Caspian sea.

Medes are already in and fully playable. Etruscans are in but not playable. All the other ones (especially Armenia ) should be in so it is possible to make a Rise Of Rome or Fall of Rome scenario.
