I have updated drivers on my msi board, used 77.77 77.89 and other drivers with my 6600gt 128mb video card and a 3200+ amd cpu with 1gb ram....
No luck, cant even start the game.
Any ideas please.

Hmm, actually you get quite far with game initialization. Try turning off intro movie in the ini file. Try running the game directly by doubleclicking a save game or a map. This should bypass the menu (if it's the menu that's causing problems).

Crunch: Thanks for comments and input, intro movie turned off and latest nvidia forceware 91.47 drivers just installed, played around with agp settings in bios also and reset to default, also tried various settings with hardware acceleration in graphics card control to no avail, monitor+pc still crashes right just b4 the game begins. I have no save games to start with as I just bought the game

Try also EnableAudio=0 to disable sounds. I guess you should give us your dxdiag (here's how to get it: http://community.oasisgame.com/lofiv...php/t272.html).
