Comp freezes at new game
Civ 4 worked perfectly (except for the ATI initialization problem, solved with patch) since I got it when it came out. But, I recently formatted and did a fresh OS install. Now, it will load okay, and I can setup a custom game (even though the cursor is flickering). Then I launch the game and the green bar fills up but the map is black and the whole comp freezes.
I've installed several different video drivers; no help. I've changed video settings inside and outside the game; no change. I've uninstalled and reinstalled; no dice. I've tried loading games from game files; no go. DirectX update, BIOS update, INF update. Nothing is working. I love Civ4 but I'm ready to give up on it. That's how much trouble I'm having with it. Celeron 1.5ghz 1gig ram Radeon 9200 64mb Any help would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE!!!!! |

Have you installed OS updates? SP2? Have you installed some new invasive antivirus/something, running in the background?
