Government Offices
We should start discussing the government offices we would want in our government and if we want offices at all.
My suggestion is just have a few positions: Turn Player- Plays the save, re-elected every set number of turns Military Advisor- Has control over all non- worker and non- settler units Domestic Advisor- Controls cities: Build queues, production, city micro-managment, lux slider, etc... Foreign Advisor/UN Rep.- Controls trade agreements between us and other civs, posts polls from the U.N. in our forum, posts those poll's results in the U.N., also appoints ambassadors to other civs. (This position will eventually be split in two when we get more people on our team) Treasurer- Controls the money in our treasury, determines when to rush production in cities along with the domestic advisor, controls the tax and science slider. All the officers need to listen to citizen's input and advice and are re-elected every set number of turns, something we'd all discuss.

I think we only need TP (president), MA, FA (+ambassadors).
TP must know basics of the civ3, he can't be passive person who have never played civ3. Every advisor listens peoples opinions and do as they wish. I am not against anarchy. |

I would like to see (for now at least) a Turn Player, a Military minister, a Domestic minister and a {Foriegn-UN Rep} Minister. As we get more people I'd suggest splitting the Foriegn and UN Rep into separate roles.

Are we going to start nominations now? Below is standard procedure we had in team Doughnut. One term would last 20 turns.
a. The nominations to the offices shall start seven (7) turns before the end of the current term, b. The elections shall start four turns before the end of the current term and finish as the next term starts, c. The candidate with the most votes wins the election, d. Voting shall be anonymous, e. If a poll is tied at closure, a new poll, which should be open for at least 24 hours, with the tied candidates will be required, f. A citizen shall not accept more than one nomination for elected offices. |

We'll start the nominations when we decide the positions.
(FWIW, MIA basically had the same procedure with shorter nomination and voting periods) |

azzaman i like your idea of combining FA and UN Rep., at least until we get more members. However i think Military and Domestic should be split. The millitary advisor controls our military units and our domestic advisor controls workers, settlers, and cities. All that power shouldn't be in the hands of one officier.

Yes I agree that they should be split.

I'll post a poll soon, either today or tommorow if no one else wants to put forth a plan. I'll put in my plan, Kuningas' plan, and azza's plan.
