Civ3.exe attempting to go to the internet?
I have just got back to giving civ3 another chance and something that I have noticed seems weird...
I have win98 and a sygate personal firewall... The sygate personal firewal will OCCASSIONALLY (once every 15 hrs or so- sometimes longer) will bring up a popup (when the game is running)saying that the civ3 executable has been modified and is trying to connect with the internet. I say don't allow the connection of course... This was after the 1.17f patch. Which makes sense about the exe being modified, but doesn't make sense because there is no need for the exe to access the internet... Anyone else experience this? And - why the heck would the civ exe be trying to access the internet anyways? I will try to gather more info next time it happens... in the meantime keep an eye open and post here if you get any weird outbound requests from civ exe Thanks |
