Can I run more than one mod at a time?
Is it possible to load more than one mod at a time? How do I manage this? I like a number of mod components, but none of the big packs has quite the combination I want.
Is it possible to have a mod (or change) apply only to a scenario, so that the game plays normally unless I load my scenario? |

No, Firaxis has not created an easy way to do this. Every few months, an ambitious modder tries to create a new, easier, way to do this. The latest attempt is Modular XML loading 2.0 by Impaler. I sincerely wish him good luck. Some guy once tried to write a utility to merge mods automatically. Got pretty far along too. You can find his big attempt here. A computer science major can tell you why there is never, ever, going to be an easy way to do this generally. If you are very lucky, you can copy the Assets from both mods into the same directory, they will have no files in common, so everything will just work. If not, you have to look at which files are different and try to merge them. The last person to try to write a tutorial on this is jray. A large number of tutorials can be found if you do a forum search. None are very complete. One is buried in the "Before you post a mod read this." sticky here, which I think is still the best despite being very, very, very out of date. If you have two different CvGameCore.dll files, well, I hope you like C++. A tutorial on how to compile the dll by the expert Kael is stickied to the main C&C forum. There is also a subforum devoted to a huge project designed to put everything into a "universal dll". I wish those guys a lot of good luck, but they really are taking on way too much. Hope this helps. But there is a reason people are making those modpacks. Last edited by Gaurav; Jan 20, 2007 at 09:34 AM. |
