Last we heard it needs a change in the format of certain files in the Windows version before it can really be done (for various checksum reasons to do with how the game makes sure that both players are using the same mods in multiplayer mode) and Firaxis have said they intend to make these changes, but have not yet done so.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were being worked on right now -- but have no knowledge as to whether this is the case.

EDIT: Even once it is done it will mean that we will be able to write SDK mods for the mac, not that preexising windows SDK mods will start working on the mac. It should (in theory) be possible to write such mods to work on both platforms, but the way to do that is to make one mod that works on windows and one that works on osX which do the same thing and package them togther.

Well, I found out today (while modifying XML map files) that it *isn't* possible to create a 24-civ map on the Macintosh version of Warlords unless SDK is brought over. Why? Well, apparently the coding that controls the maximum number of civilizations in a game is only accessible through SDK. Right now, it's 18 civilizations ... and that's where it's going to stay unless SDK becomes a reality.

In the meantime, I am working on a European map that includes the Celts, Vikings, Carthaginians and Ottomans (but not Korea or the Zulus, for obvious reasons).

that particular string IS in the SDK (i cant remember what file though)

to change you need a windows program to break it down and then reseal it. (open and then close it)
