I was wandering on a famous abandonware website when I saw the unavoidable Civ 1/Civnet section. Had a glance at it. The biggest surprise was that in the acknowledgment field there was written:
"Special thanks to TTGGuy for CivNet" Eh eh, TTG, my friend, guessed it was you? ![]() ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://www.ifrance.com/genghisk/gk_sig275.gif" border=0> |

I think you are joking? Perhaps you've read the guidelines... It's not allowed to post links to abandonware sites. Sorry. I can't break the rules.

You know, there's a very useful stuff called PM
If you're still curious... Ok, it took me a lot of time to discover there was a PM system (thank you Stormerne) but I think you're more clever than me eh? ![]() ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://www.ifrance.com/genghisk/GKultima.gif" border=0> |

Hey all you civI fans. I was just going through some of these messages while I should be studying for an uni exam (Im sure you all know how it is), and I stubled onto a message about a PM system? I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but it sounds interesting, care to enlighten me someone?
Cheers, Zibby ![]() Oh, just testing out these smiley thingys, this how it works then is it? |

A PM is a private message. I didn't know it too. It was Stormerne who told me about its existence... You can acces it by clicking in the inbox button. That's useful when you have something "discrete" to ask to a person. But don't use it to send private insults!
That s** and is not really the first purpose of a PM ![]() ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://www.ifrance.com/genghisk/GKultima.gif" border=0> |

Hehe... I'm not that famous, really. Just, I used to work in abandonware extensively. Ask almost any major abandonware webmaster and they will either know me quite well or at least know my name. The site you are referring to is, I believe, The Home of the Underdogs. Underdogs, the webmaster is a good friend of mine for whom I have designed several websites. He thanked me on that page because I gave him that HTML copy of the Civ1 tech poster (which is also on civfanatics). MY copy of Civilization 1 never came with that poster, so Underdogs was the one who scanned it for me and emailed it to me. It was over 5MB, so that's why I put it into HTML (50KB!).
