I just bought civ3 and i don't succed in getting technologies quickly. I put science rate at maximum, i build libraries but my science remains low. I can't get technologies in "normal times" : i mean in 1700's for railroad for example.
Can someone help me??? |

If you play on a lower level then the science rate goes won't go real time.
If you want to get technologies in "normal time" then play warlord. Regent will be a bit faster and monarch too fast. Above that is super fast.

So, unlikely to Civ 1 and 2, the fact of playing chieftain reduces the science advancement rate. Thanks a lot for that i really didn't understand.

what he means is that once you play at a higher difficulty level the ai is going to complete techs in a super fast way because they share techs among each other and thus cna develop newer techs and also at faster rates.
when i played the lower difficulty's i usually didn't have a fast tech reachup either because of the ai's research is at a slower pace and what happened was i was always more technologically advance then they were by at least 3-5 techs. if your above them by that many techs you should be fine in the lower difficulty's. make sure you put libraries in ur cities with the most population. also change workers in ur cities to do science output instead of entertainer or worker. if u can keep a good balance of worker/scientist/entertainer, you should be fine. also libraries are great culture builders and i always build them on my border cities to capture other cities. |
