Can someone please enlighten me on the conditions of the Religion victory condition? It says it requires a religious influence of 80%, but how is this number calculated?
I just played a game (monarch, large pangaea) as the Amurites, and since the only evil civ, the orcs, got wiped out pretty early, everything was peaceful and quiet. This motivated me to try a peaceful, builder victory (something very new to me!), and I managed to spread my state religion to _all_ cities in the world, but my religion influence score was stuck at 74% (even after purging all non-state religions in my borders). I guess it is some ratio of populations worshipping each religion, but could not find any documentation on it (the interesting part is how it treats cities with multiple religions and if it is based on populations or numbers of cities). If we get the algorithm it would be nice to put in the pedia also, since the religion victory condition is not mentioned at all (but the others are). |

Citys with multiple religions have equal fractions of their population counted for each religion present. So if 40% of the citys (by population) have multiple religions you will be unable to win untill they are reduced.
Citys with no religion, including barbarian citys count into the fraction that no religion has, so it is very important to convert the barbs as well. I would recomend that you begin purging other religions from the citys of other nations as well, conquring them, and burning them to the ground if you don't have inquisitors yet.

Thanks a lot. That was more or less as I thought, but nice to get on "paper". Now, can anyone put that into the pedia? I think the wording (and the tips) is excellent.
As a side comment on the game, I think it is good to see, that games can (and perhaps most often will) evolve peacefully with certain combinations of mainly non-evil civs. No one founded the Veil and the Armagedon counter is stable at around 30 (Elohim could get it down, but does not seem to make any rituals towards that end). |

You can also try growing the population of your empire, if you say you've purged all other religions from your cities. Once, I was stuck at 79%, but then my capital grew and I won
