ok it's back up, the other game will be back up shortly.

Not really sure what happened there but I had to reboot the server, I was able to save the games though so nothing has been lost.

I cant use the new patch for some reason :'(. I might need a sub if i cant manage to get it to work...

Ok well the connection is going at least, but now for some reason my server becomes unresponsive after a few hours or something. Clearly, God is punishing me for being an atheist.

For the time being I'm going to leave the games off until I can get the server to stop being a piece of crap. This is basically a trial-and-error process of 'try something and see if the computer lasts more than few hours'.

BTW I loaded from the most recent autosave, so if you were the most recent person to take your turn you may have to retake it.

Also, if you don't get enough time to take your turn, let me know and I'll work it out.

ok if you tried it in the last few minutes (as oyzar did) and it didn't work it's because I forgot to reopen the ports, it's fine now and I've confirmed this with oyzar (over MSN).

The Fall from Heaven Mod has Rangers that have bears following them around, and it has Mammoth Cavalry, which is pretty cool.

It appears civstats is sending out emails again, so I'll turn off the email notification when I get home and we'll be relying on civstats instead. So if you want email notification, register on civstats, let me know if you need any info for this.

well this sucks.

apparently the US Army thinks Civ games are bad. Proxyserver+firewall+netnanny= I can't connect.

(I'm on a USArmy base in Republic of Marshall Islands (south pacific). Has net access, so I thought I'd still be able to play)

hmm... they may be blocking the civ port. Try changing your default port to a different one... 25 will probably be open. Let me know if you need instructions on how to do this. Or tell them you're at war with Iraq in the game, and you're researching possible strategies for the USMC to use in Karkuk.

To any other techies: will this work or am I talking out my ass?
