The History Channel Presents: The Egytion war
Dramatic Voice (James Earl Jones): The Arabian empire was founded on the banks of the Nasha river in the midst of the Hakta desert. For centuries the land lived at peace with it’s neighbors but the peace was shattered by 232 that ground it’s neighbor civilization into the dust of history. Tonight the History Channel will take you deep into the mind of Arabian emperor Graham Shaw and the Egyptian war.
To truly understand the war we must first look at the causes of the war, as with many wars part of the blame must lie with religious differences. Hayden Smith, Arabian historian: Arabia was, was a massive center of religion, it held the holy cities of Buddhism, Christianity and Islam and for the most part these religions co-existed due to a stong sense of patriotism encouraged by Emperor Shaw, who was himself a Buddhist. But the sense of patriotism also lead to extreme xenophobia, one of the most odd places were the polytheists to the north east in Egypt. DV: All three religions housed in Arabia did not believe in multiple gods. The statues and temples of the Egyptians were odd and in some cases terrifying to Arabians who went to visit the land. Scary Voice: On a journey into the holy places of the city I was greeted with a horrid image. It was of a man with multiple arms and to his right a man with multiple heads, not one image in the room was of a normal human being, these are clearly the carving of a man deranged. -Letter from Arabian diplomat to his mother DV: While religion had it’s role in the start of this war the more prominent cause was that of land, and marble. Historian: In the year 1630bc Egypt founded a city near a marble source that Arabia had claimed for themselves. Letters to and from Shaw and the Egyptian show that he was clearly angered by this move. Most people think that this was the true start of the war, because it was about then that Shaw began gathering his army. DV: Shaw’s hesitance was not misplaced the city of Heliopolis was well defended it would take technological advances to break through them, this happened in 1100 AD when construction was discovered it gave them catapults to take down the defenses of the city. 1100 AD was also the time of the revolution making the country a theocracy and giving extra training to the troops. In the year 1312 the army was fully mobilized and headed towards Helipolis and the marble within. That’s next on the history channel. |

We now return to the Egyptian war on the history channel.
DV: With his new technology in place and massive army razed Shaw of the Arabians was preparing to take land he thought he was entitled to from the empire of Egypt. War was officially declared in the year 1314, two years later Arabian forces set foot in Egyptian territory for the first time in it’s history. But the forces here would not be enough… Historian: Shaw knew that he couldn’t take on the massive Egyptian empire… he, he had not invested well in unit’s for defense so he decided to bring in allies. DV: Shaw had established good relations over the years with neighboring Germany, Mongolia and Greece for many years. It was time to call in these favors in 1316 all three joined the war. Once Arabian forces were inside Egypt’s land they divided up in order to better attack the city. The first part of the invasion was the burning of nearby farms. ![]() Fearful Voice: The invaders entered our farms with torches held high. They rode through the fields on horseback setting fire to the crops. The drought aided the flames spread in no time the crops were destroyed. Those who did not flee were slain.- Egyptian Farm Owner DV: In the year 1322 the Egyptians attempted to invade Arabia, their attack was thwarted with only minimal damage. That same year the first attack on the city commenced. And on June 2nd 1322 the city fell to the hands of the Arabians. While the Egyptians would manage to retake it for a brief period the city would never again fly an Egyptian banner. Egypt would have to explore other tactics if it hoped to win. We now return to the Egyptian war on the history channel
DV: Egypt was losing the war with Arabia, with the loss of the city of Helioplis Egypt no longer had access to the valuable marble supplies it had grown to treasure, and moral was very low. Other strategies would have to be explored if Egypt was to even stand a chance at victory. Egypt found that strategy in 1332. When it sent raiders into Arabia. Historian: Egypt knew that facing Arabia in the open field would be suicide, so they decided to take a more subtle approach they sent their forces to Arabian plantations in order to try and cut off Arabia’s cash flow, no money no war… DV: The first target: Arabia’s prized spice plantations. Scared Voice: Our work in the fields was interrupted by the sound of approaching feet. Thinking it was a routine patrol by Arabian forces we continued our work. But then we saw the banner of Egypt, the wiser of us, myself among them, ran and hid. I watched the scene from a pile of elephant dung which I secluded myself in. The troops threw firepots into the fields setting the herbs on fire. A strangely pleasing odor rose from the flames but it did not take long before it was replaced by the blood of my fellow workers. The troops simply ran through the rows of the plantation slashing any worker that got in their way. The men were ankle deep in the blood of my friends, my co-workers, and even those #(@#-hole union foremen. They proceeded to the main plantation building were the women worked to extract the spice from the plants. They were ravaged on the beds made from the chaff of the spices. Then the building itself was burned, the bodies of the dead were thrown in, some still living, as fuel.- Account of Corey Miller on the burning of the spice plantation. DV: This would not be the last pillage from Egypt a pasture for cattle was also destroyed it would take years to repair the damage, but somehow Arabia fought off the invasion and set their sites on another city. The defenses of Elephantie fell in 1422, and Arabia turned to Byblos. By this time the allies Shaw had had exited the war, Shaw was able to bring them back in with some trade secrets. Greece would begin an invasion of their own that would decimate the empire of Egypt however we are focused on the Arabian invasion and it’s next target was Byblos. Byblos fell in 1431 this gave Arabia access to the Terman sea for the first time in it’s history, Arabia now stretched from coast to coast. ![]() At this point Shaw was tiring of the war, he choose to end the battle once and for all by taking the capital of Thebes That’s next on the history channel |

We’re back
DV: With much of former Egyptian empire in the hands of Greece and Arabia the time was near to end go for the kill. Shaw amassed an army for a final battle at Thebes. In 1507 the Arabian army reentered Egyptian territory for the first time in more than 50 years. Historian: The time between the fall of Byblos and the march on Thebes is referred to by some historians as the age of peace, it wasn’t a very long time but many important things happened then: the Arabian Renaissance happened and the Golden Age of Arabia began… DV: But the peace was superficial since no treaty existed between the two empires. After razing an iron mine the forces of Arabia saw that Thebes was too well defended for an all out strike. It would take reinforcements. Shaw sent them immediately but it was not in time, at the battle of the Thebian gate a large portion of the invading army was slain. Angry voice: These Egyptians are like locusts in the wind strike one down and 2 more seem to appear from nowhere. Their catapults rain down fire and death upon our men. Their archers aim is true and deadly. Death surrounds us at all times, our blood is shed… our blood is shed- General Tay West’s last words at the battle of the Thebian Gate. DV: So bad were the losses that Arabian forces withdrew to an iron vein in 1515 to wait for help. Today the vein is the home to a memorial to the fallen at Thebes’ gate. It would not be until 1534 that they would gain enough force to reinvade. During that time naval forces of the Arabian empire had begun to bombard Thebes from the sea… Sacred Voice: The ships of the Arabians are straight from Hell itself, how else can the spit fire and brimstone from their sides without consuming their own ships. Everyday our city suffers under the immense fire from this THINGS. Many have died (A/N not enough to decrease population on screen but I think it’s a safe assumption that people die in bombardments) and I fear only more will… Thebeian Body Guard on the attack on Thebes. ![]() DV: With the defenses of Thebes at an all time low Arabian forces attacked again in the year 1535 this time the force of the new gunpowder units was too much. ![]() On June 21st of that same year Thebes fell to the Arabian army. The forces of Arabia stormed the palace in order to take the emperor of Egypt prisoner. But upon arriving they found she had escaped and fled to the last stronghold of Egypt. Historian: Exactly how the emperor escaped is still a mystery, some think that she may have snuck aboard a blockade runner before the fall of the city. Others think that there was a secret passage to the outside of the city, and still others think that aliens were involved. Myself I think that she simply snuck out at night when the Arabian forces were asleep… DV: Shaw knew what he had to do, he sent his troops across the Yanta river and to the outskirts of Pi Ramses. The defenses of Ramses did not hold long and in 1546 the city fell. This time there was no escape for the emperor. The defenses of the city were not enough to protect her. She was taken prisoner and brought to Mecca to be executed. In the end she begged for her life… Pleading Voice: I have done no wrong except to stand against a force stronger than myself I beg you not to carry out my sentence. My service to my empire is not punishable by… Egyptian emperor’s last words upon the day of her execution. DV: With Egypt out of the way a new age of peace came to the land. The Egyptian war had taken 232 years and thousands upon thousands of lives. It is now immortalized in the epic play Fesuus preformed every year in countless Arabian cities. Now Arabia faced a new challenge, it’s former allies were growing in strength soon one would need the others lands and the former alliances would be shattered the question remained who would shatter the peace, Greece, or Mongolia… That’s next week on the history channel |
