I put the stuff in that folder and started a game. My city had two religions in five turns or so and neither showed up in the city screen. Let me make sure I'm doing everything correctly...

I think your game fonts file is corrupted Garret.
I opened the file in DXTBmp and have attached the normal and transparency layers. In the normal layer none of the icons should cross into the pink lines at all, or it will not work. And i have no idea whats up with the transparency layer, but it is clearly corrupted. What program did you use to modify the gamefont files? I recommend making all changes to the files using DXTBmp. It is slow and clumsy to work with (uses mspaint as the editor) but it allows precice icons and always works.

I think it's a blue dot issue.

I have not had any sucess using gimp to modify these files. It still works as a good graphics editor for the icons, so you can design them in gimp then add the icons into the files using DXTBmp.

Would this be why they didn't show up for me? I really have no idea.

hey bro i figured out how to edit these .tga's with GIMP. you just have to make super sure that when you save, you "Save As..." ctrl+shift+S
after you specify the file, then it will have some check boxes you have to uncheck, otherwise, it compresses the Alpha and gives it the static look |

hmmm. thats crazy. crap well i can redo them easy enough. i have found a method that works good: shave off 2-3 pixels in size and they usually dont cross the invisible pink lines of glitchiness.

If you use DXTBmp for the editing of the font file then you can see those pink lines.

I think they were also in the wrong spots since they never showed in my game as anything and some of my other icons were wierd as well. I had the Sugar icon in my civics screen everywhere.

Woodelf, my upload space is broken. Every time I try to upload a pic I get Pure Science URL. I will be very glad to see moon ideologies working and then do some further cleaning in my upload space.
Can someone recall me where are these tga files, please ?
