Quick Game 8 - spoiler thread

Did anyone actually meet any other civs in this game? And what strategies did you employ with regards to pop rushing? (Sorry for being a bit late with the spoiler...)

Didnt meet anyone, didnt poprush
2 big mistakes - built 2 settlers (and got 1 from GH) and more importantly couldnt get out of my habit of roading tiles before moving off. The key I think was to get 10spt ASAP 40 warriors in 1950BC Replayed and got 41 warriors in 2190BC with 2 towns and no free settler. Both towns making 10spt at end (Mecca size 5, Medina 2SE of wheat size 6). Irrigated wheat, irrigated cow, mined sugar, mined wine. Initially thought I would need the commerce from roading to afford unit costs (plus increased unit support from multiple towns), but this was unnecessary at 0 science |
