Request: CivII III Diplomat

hello
there's a unit that everybody seems to have forgotten: the old diplomate from civIII (or II)...the one who bought ennemy units on his road and make embassy. If somebody will do it.....

It is civ2 ! the other ones forgotten are caravans, fanatics, and alpine troops.

Caravans and Freights aren't really needed now with the current Trade Route system and the Great Merchant ability to conduct special Trade Missions. It would be nice to have a unit that, like the Freight, can allow other cities to help production in another (speeding Wonders and spaceship parts especially).

The Fanatic might be nice to bring back in some way, a cheap militia unit that you can build if you use choose a certain civic. (Sort of like Inquisitors in the popular Inquisitor mod component.)

Alpine could be a promotion in CivIV, but it really wouldn't do much good when Mountains are impassible for ground units. It might be nice if you could make it a melee, archer, and gunpowder promotion allowing mountain-passing.

BTW, Vrenir, you can make impassable terrain passable with one line in XML, which would give Alpine Troops a huge advantage for hit-and-run tactics. They could yet make a comeback.
