Back on the net

Finally got myself a new provider!

Well, the situation has been made quite clear by everybody, so there is not much I can add to it.
So Academia, I guess you know almost all there is to know. For the deals I have made with France earlier, see your PM box.

Happy gaming

Germanos:
You disabled the PM... could you arrange that?

Darius:
Give me more time to negotiate. This situation is really complicated.

Hi academia,

it should be OK again now.

Since I changed provider, I had to change my e-mail adres here, and to reconfirm it.

Since I can post again now I guess my PM has returned to normal also.

Post A Brief Word.

I rather suspected the French player was very likely cheating when, in the first few turns, he was able to take the Oriental cities of Bangkok and Fez. Fez is a tough nut to crack even with better artillery. With only cannons, it's well nigh impossible. Bangkok is loaded with dug-in troops at the start, specifically to make it nearly impossible for the French or British players in east Asia to take it. I designed both of those cities in such a fashion, and have had ample opportunities to test this thoroughly.

Still, I couldn't prove it, so I kept my mouth shut.

The final version of the scenario is out, complete, and won't see any further changes, so further playtesting isn't really necessary. Moreover, this version is a flawed one when compared with the final version. My suggestion is to let this one die peacefully.

Thanks to all who participated and I hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure we're going to continue though. Even if it isn't a playtest this time this scenario is one of the best ever for PBEM's and we wouldn't want a cheater to kill this one.

Would you say it is flawed enough to restart with the new one if it's only been eight turns? You know more of the major differences than us.

Unless the playtest version is VERY flawed, I second Darius in continuing this one.

Peregrine: is the version you talk about the one that you posted shortly after we started the playtest, or did you rework that one too?

Academia will play from the 'new october' game that Eivind posted.
He is assessing his position I recon, and asked me to enable my PM again, which I did. Haven't received any yet though. My guess is he will play soon, after he has decided what France can and cannot do.

France will go on with this war at least for a couple of months. I found a disordered nation, lack of industrialization programs, poor scientific research... etc.
As you can notice, France has more relevant matters to take care than waging war on Russia and Germany...

I also would suggest against continuing....

I looked at the game a bit more and the French and Americans had very good relations and worked as a near perfect team (as Allies should), however, we have no way of knowing what items or techs that the French passed along to the US were valid and which ones were not.

Er, DoM did you mean to say that you're against continuing?

I must say that that's a good point though...
