Hindenburg Funeral March Takes Place in Berlin But Overlying Tones of War Rain On the Parade

Today in Berlin the final rest for Chancellor Paul von Hindenburg was made. The funeral march, which stretched over 2 miles long, included the Japanese emperor Kwan-Sn and Premier Romanov who rode with Chancellor Gothart von Hotzendorf in the leading black Rolls Royce. The widowed Frau Hindenburg
rode in the hearse.

The whole nation weeps today but not only for their fallen Chancellor. The advent of war on the horizon, as seen by the Egyptian-South African plans against French and German colonies, has been severely hitting on the heads of the German people.

It is sorrowful that the German Chancellor's funeral should be so eclipsed. We hope that in due time, both Hindenburg and the war will be resolved.
