Religious Line of Sight gone

I know that you can get all sorts of things using espionage, including IIRC line of sight to a civ's cities. But has the religious line of sight been removed? The way it worked up to Warlords was that if you adopted a religion and owned the holy city you could see other civs' cities with the same religion. You didn't need the shrine for this. I haven't yet checked to see if with the shrine built this is still available.

Yes, religious line of sight has been removed in favor of espionage.

There's no religious line of sight anymore.

However, it seems to drastically reduce the espionage points required to see that particular city

That's true. On several occasions, I've been able to see into cities that have adopted my religion, even though I wasn't able to with ones that didn't. So it hasn't been eliminated entirely.
