Very important Bryce question
How can i load a building from a file, into another file, keeping its original colours?
Currently when i do that the building changes to a single colour, so i have to paint it again.

1. Not reccommended. Merge the files. Sometimes get stray stuff or occasionally can change your sky settings. 2. Open file 1, select the building. Enter control + C. Open file 2 and enter Control + V. No real downside to this method. 2. reccommended. Add your buildings to your own library. Upside you build a catalog of buildings to easily view at the same time and play mix and match with. Plus you can export the OBP file and back it up easily. The OBP is based on grouping, so it will take your entire model and all the texturing, but not the sky settings or other objects in your scene.

How can i have 2 files open at the same time?
I copy the object, but when i ask the program to open the new file and a paste, the colours are all lost. I will check the library option.

Copy and paste is not two files open. It is open file 1, select object to copy, open file two (which causes file 1 to close) and paste in the contents of the copy buffer. The library is also just one file open at a time. I just tested and the object colors are preserved in both Bryce 5.5 and 6.1 in all three methods I described. And, if you want to have two files open at the same time just launch a 2nd copy of Bryce. However, these two copys of bryce would not share a copy buffer.
