This is what I left TAM for...

Finally I'm allowed to say something about it... we've just announced Empire: Total War! Yupp, that's the game I'm working on.

It'll be very moddable. Not quite as moddable as CIV4, but still a lot more than previous TW games.

Hah! I was playing Medieval II Total War and I alt-tabbed out of it to see how one of my favorite Civilization mods was progressing, and I see this post. It really gets me in a jingoist mood, it does.

Don't know about how testing is done here. I probably won't be as open as Firaxis' test. I'll let you know once I know anything.

This is fantastic news! I hope the diplomacy system is much more developed in this iteration. I have always loved the TW series, but the irrationality of the diplomacy system was one thing that always annoyed me.

This is amazing news. I played Rome Total Realism for about a year and only stopped when I discovered Civ. The diplomacy was the reason I couldn't go back to RTW/RTR

With deeper diplo and moddability it could be the big game for 2008 and onwards.
