If the game is still not posted or there's not an "I got it" when I get home this evening I'll play it. But there's a lot of time between now and then, about 14 hours (it's gonna be a late night), so please feel free to play it..

Well I really dont know what is wrong. My PTW exe went poof somehow so I reinstalled to play the Deity gotm. That worked fine. Now when I run Conquests it simply stops. Tried a complete reinstall including deletion of registry keys, and now in Add/Remove Programs Conquests is there, but it has the vanilla Civ 3 icon by it and its only 6 MB. God knows where my vanilla disc is, it being 6 years old or so. Conquests works unpatched, but applying the 1.22 patch screws it up somehow.

I guess I will try to dig up an old copy from somewhere, but it will be a day or two or maybe longer if I have to order it online.

Hey gang, I've got the save, it's d/l'ed and up on my screen.

We got 250 g from Saber so I'm sending Feud. If you check gmail you can see I've started talking peace w/ them.

The Babes don't have Education so I'm sending it to them and wonder which of us is going research Astro. I'm temped to start researching Astro this turn so some input would be nice.

I'm on MS Messenger so please ping me if you have any input.

Thanks,

jb

Ummmm, S__t!

This is what you get when you let a Swede play this game! Sup Daghie?

I'll PM Wotan and Whomp and tell them to not accept the gift.

I dont know if we had decided to do it or not. I think it is only to get Astro unless we wanted to push our luck. But better to keep our options open for another turn or two.

Did we ever do a calc on just how much hardware we would loose in the swap and put that cost up against actually researching Astro?

Its the culture doubling of the Library and the temple there, oh and the Pyramids. A couple of turns of culture in the endgame at least.

With so little time and so many variables I wisely decided to not take a shot. I'd have messed it up way worse. AAD y'know

Hmm...Putting the Pyramids in the BABE's hands doesn't sound too fun. We lose all the free granaries for a little while (1 turn only, though, I think...). Not to be a continual conspiracy theorist, but it'd be really bad if BABE really does just want to screw the game and they abandon the Pyramid city. Not likely I know but just throwing that out there.

Well, all that cultural doubling loss would hurt but is probably the only real cost to the swap. What / how many techs are we expecting to net from this maneuver?
