An Unexpected Occurance
I saw some spice or something that i thought you could work if you had Monarchy ( by the way it was "Calendar" that was needed for that resource)
I teched towards Monarchy, did not expand at all- send work boats exploring and along the way started on the Oracle. I finished the Oracle and one of the options i had was for Feudalism (66 turns!). I am sure that someone has written about this slingshot somewhere but i would add that my plan was to settle an isle somewhere as my 2nd city and have my continent city be a war machine. (Which worked out well when my Longbowmen massacered Greek cities that had settled around my one and only city. Got gang banged later tho and could not hold on. (Lincoln/Standard/Continent/Prince)
