The patch fixes the crash reported by Lord Tirian.
Do you still get crashes under patch h, as seems to be the case judging from your post in the succession game thread? If so, please attach a save!

Patch 11i for Planetfall, the Alpha Centauri total conversion mod for Civ4 BtS, has been released. This patch needs to be applied on top of the main v11 file of Planetfall. It doesn't break savegames started under patch g or h. It does break savegames from previous versions or patches before 'g'.

The patch fixes a bug.

crash in v.11 patch i

Hi Maniac

I experienced a crash in my latest game (11i). The crash occurs also if I load an older savegame and play until this round. The latest save-file before the crash occurs is attached.

Best
w

Edit: Sorry for the false alarm. You're right, of course.

You're not using patch i. I don't get a crash. The crash before patch i happened upon completion of the Planetary Council, which is exactly what happens in MY 3212 in your game.

you should really add a changelog to the first post of this thread, particularly including at least the name of the current patch, plainly visible.

Not being able to see at a glance whether or not I'm upto date is a little irritating.

The first posts of the various Planetfall download threads are written specifically so that I would never have to edit them all upon releasing a new patch. But see my modified sig instead.

Why? I don't see the sense in this.

When new people come to this forum, the first place they're going to go is the download thread, because it's a sticky, and it's name openly advertises it as the place to get information. The average person coming here probably won't know that this is your mod. It took me a little while to even notice that.

Your signature doesn't include the changelog. Do you keep an aggregated changelog anywhere at all ?

You mean one that doesn't only list the changes made in the last patch, but all done before? Don't know a place here to view it, but it is always included in the downloads and can be found in the main Planetfall folder, after you installed the mod; name is just "changelog"

Hey Maniac, how you doing? Still working HARD on this I see!

So I was wondering if you'd mind sharing what your next main goals in this mod are? Are you planning on creating the other factions AXF at some point? What other units are you planning on adding? Urm...... any other info that you would like to share?

Or are you going to keep it a surprise, or are you just seeing what comes when you get time to do it?

Patch 11k for Planetfall, the Alpha Centauri total conversion mod for Civ4 BtS, has been released. This patch needs to be applied on top of the main v11 file of Planetfall. It breaks savegames from previous versions or patches other than patch j. But I wouldn't recommend using the new patch in patch j games where hybrid forests are already present. Weird stuff might happen.

Changelog:

1. German translation updated by Lord Tirian.
2. Building buttons by Lord Tirian.
3. Hybrid Forests only provide +1.25 instead of +1.5 Planet.
4. Fixes the crash reported by Pfeffersack.

1) Add a Transcendence victory.
2) Add the SMAX factions.

Version 12 of Planetfall, the Alpha Centauri total conversion mod for Civ4 BtS, has been released. This new version will break save games from previous versions.

This new version mostly merely contains cosmetic name changes compared to the latest patch. The idea is to upload a main file of which I can be reasonably sure it doesn't have any bugs.

Please post interesting screenshots of your games in this thread.

Don't forget to reapply the SMAC fx and voices folder. A new version creates a new mod folder after all.

Changelog:

1. The Research Hospital building now provides one Scientist instead of one Doctor specialist slot.
2. The Research Hospital building no longer requires an Infirmary in the base.
3. The McDonalds secret project has been renamed to The Longevity Vaccine, and provides a resource of the same name.
4. The Rejuvenation Tanks building provides +1 Health with the Longevity Vaccine resource.
5. The Citizen specialist has been renamed to Technician.
6. The Recycling Tanks building has been renamed to Arcology.
7. The Planet Pearls resource is now enabled rather than revealed by Field Modulation.
8. The Degenerate Neutronium tech has been renamed to Superstring Theory.
9. The Dimensional Gate building is now enabled by Superstring Theory.
10. The Stable Neutronium tech has been renamed to Neutronium.
11. The Amphibious Pods special ability gives +50% strength versus naval units.
12. The combat strength bonus promotions for conventional units have been renamed to Morale I to IX.
13. The combat strength bonus promotions for native life units have been renamed to Lifecycle I to IX.
14. The Spartan promotion has been renamed to Commando and can be picked by Irregular units.
15. Forest no longer produces +1 energy with Atmospherics.
16. Hybrid Forest produces one less energy.
17. Forest Camouflage special ability (I) and promotions (II & III) added.
18. Gaian land units gain +50% psi defense.
19. Gaian Infantry and Vanguard units start with the Walk with Planet and Forest Camouflage II & III promotions.
20. The Walker unit starts with the Forest Camouflage III promotion.
21. The Walker unit gains +25% attack strength vs. Xenofungus.

why the nerfs to hybrid forests ? I think it's the military aspect of that playstyle that needs looking at more.

Hybrid Forests give +0.5 Health because Forests give that too. Hybrid Forests are supposed to be better than Forests, so it would be weird if your health started dropping after researching Pholus Mutagen.

That extra health may allow certain bases to grow to a larger size. That could have as consequence the player's Planet Attitude drops. That too would be weird considering Hybrid Forests are supposed to signify peace and harmony with Planet and all that. So I felt the jump in Planet from Fungus to Hybrid Forest should be as big as the jump in health. That's the idea behind the previous value of 1.5 Planet.

However it is reasonable to assume that Planet-friendly bases all have a Biology Lab. So rather than a jump from -0.5 Health to +0.5 Health, the jump from Fungus to Hybrid Forest is more likely to be from -0.25 Health to +0.5 Health. This means the Planet increase from Fungus to Hybrid Forest can also be decreased from +1 to +0.75, in other words from +0.5 to +1.25.

The extra energy for Forests and Hybrid Forests was added before I added the Bioreactor building. With that building, that old +1 energy is no longer required. It makes Forests too attractive compared to Windmills and Mines.

In that case I officially declare version 12 downloadable.

Version 12 came quickly after patch k, so keep in mind no one is forcing you to download the latest patch or version right away. Sometimes people say "I can never finish a game of Planetfall because the patches are coming so fast."
