GOTM High Scores?
I recently started an old GOTM (India/Warlord) using the mac beta-patch. I noticed the high scores were really up there, around 8000, for Warlord level.
I don't claim to be the player some of these folks are, but I can't imagine how they did it. My game is nearing 2000 pts (China and Germany left) around 1960. I could have completed the spaceship many turns ago, but I want to reach future techs for the first time. I control over 50% of the land area. Depending on what I'm researching (how quickly I want it), I'm bringing in 500 to 1000 gold per turn. Question: How do these guys crank out such high scores? Do they expand so far so early and then ride it out? I'm perplexed. My capital has 7 wonders, life is really good. I don't see what else I can do but whittle China and Germany down to one city each.

I recommend that you review the article written by Sir Pleb in the war academy:
http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3acad_maxscore.shtml That article discusses the early theories of score milking commonly found in your GOTM and HOF score leaders. Sir Pleb is an expert at it. I say early, because a new, even more powerful exploit was used by some in the last GOTM, it is basically worker farming for score. Check out this thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showth...1&pagenumber=6 Bill
