Intro movie problems
The intro movie freezes about like 2 seconds. Making it unwatchable. The rest of the game runs beautifully, none of the wonder cut scenes have problems, The menu is smooth. Thats the only problem.
Its been doing it on BTS and Vanilla. It just started doing it... I wasn't having any problems before, even before I got BTS it was doing it. I have all the updates. My specs are.... -NVIDIA GeForce 6100 GPU (bad I know) -1.5gig ram -AMD Athlon 64 3500+ -Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 -153 GB HD I haven't found any fixes online yet... Thanks |

You might want to consider, check, and follow these ideas:
1- Update your Windows system with the latest of updates from http://www.microsoft.com 2- Update your Nvidia graphics drivers to the latest ones. This could work out problems with many games. You can go to http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html to download the drivers. The menu is pretty self-explanatory. 3-Check to see if you have the latest Civ4/BtS patches. 4-Check your DirectX compatibility. Though I am skeptical since DirectX is more related to 3-D issues, it is good to have the latest DirectX version anyway. You can also find your latest DirectX downloads at http://www.microsoft.com If you have tried all these things and nothing seems to work, you might want to consider that the file may just be bad because of some installation problem which occurred when installing. In this case, you may want to try reinstalling the game. If you are tired of the movie freezing, and don't mind switching it off, you can by going into the shortcut file (or into the direct file if you find it, though it takes up more seconds, and I figure you want to get this done as quickly as possible) located in your "Sid Meier's Civilization 4" folder, entitled: _Civ4Config Once you have opened it (I open it with Notepad) you can scroll through it until you find "Set to 1 for no intro movie". Do what it says, and set the 0 in the next line to a 1. Save it, quit out of it, and then go into Civ4. I hope this helps you! |

No problem, I just hope your problem becomes fixed. Re-installation might do the trick, but you also want to consider reading through the very helpful FAQs and content hosted in this same section. Perhaps you can find your solution there! Anyways, as I said before, I hope your problem can be resolved.
