How to change the numbers of men in a unit
In the CIV IV mod I play are there 3 ships annimations in a naval unit. I want to have just one larger ship there how is the easiest way to do this? I have almoust no modding experience at all.

Not 100% sure, but I think you should be able to change this in assets/xml/units/civ4unitinfos.xml, in this case, in the mod's directory.
Find the entry for the unit you want, scroll down till you come to <UnitMeshGroups>. There will be an entry <iGroupSize> and maybe another entry <iRequired>. If both of these are 3, change them to 1 and see what happens. I haven't experimented with this yet but I'm fairly confident that would do the trick. If you do this you also may (or may not) want to play around with the scale, as I expect ships that are grouped in little fleets of 3 are probably scaled quite small. |

That's exactly how you do it. It's what I've been doing to the new version of Dale's Combat Mod all day.
Now to figure out formations, so they look a bit prettier. OP, are you looking for how to do that to one unit, or to all of them? Because there's a menu option "Single Unit Graphics," that will just display a single mesh per unit globally. You may already know that but I mention it for completeness' sake. |
