I have been playing Civ since...1994. My friend got me into Civilization (DOS) and I loved it. I have been playing it ever since, and I have tried the newer civ games.....but I don't much care for them to tell you the truth. I don't like the 3D maps and the graphics just make it harder to discern things in my opinion. I just want my civ to be visually simple and easy to understand. I know the first Civ isn't perfect, but it's pretty awesome for what it is.

I've been playing Civ 4 for only 11 months, so here's a free tip for you:
When I started gaming I thought that building cottages helps with overpopulation of cities..
well I assure you that's not the case!

just wanted to introduce myself as Desmond (aka) CyrusV. This is my first experience playing Civ 5 and have been overall impressed with game play. I haven't spent much time yet deconstructing but just enjoying the experience. I do have a few opinions which I would like to share at a later time but for now i'm open for discussion and look forward to future feedback from other players. Glad to be on board. Game On!

So, I'm a single thirtysomething who continues to play Civ III even though I could play both Civ IV or Civ V. My younger brother criticizes me for this, but I like the flow of III better than IV and haven't played enough of V to start playing that instead of III. I always have and always will love turn based strategy games, and I hate it when those games are turned into a real time strategy games. However, my brother introduced me to Civ III a few years ago, and I have been playing it ever since especially because my computer will no longer play my TBS version of Axis & Allies. I suspect this will continue to be the case until my computer no longer supports Civ III or a better TBS game comes out.
