Playing multiplayer games with mods

When I load a mod I can't play LAN multiplayer games with other people, we make games but they don't appear to the other person. We're currently using Fall From heaven 2 but it happens with other mods. Is there a way to resolve this?

Are you behind a firewall of anykind? Sometimes an active firewall would do that.
