Idea for multiplayer mod component!
Hello,
one of my friends had a IMO cool idea. In multiplayer games it's often the case that if a stronger empire attacks a weaker one, other civilizations will also attack the weak in order to grab what they can. It would be more fun if other civilizations would help the weaker instead. My friend had the idea from the classic board risk. You may get a mission in the beginning, e.g. kill this civilization. Maybe it should be a 50% chance that you get a mission. So it's like an extra victory condition. If you kill the civ you win. But if someone else kills it, you don't win. This would maybe be a reason for players to defend the player who is about to get wiped out! What do you guys think? Is it doable? |

Well I don't know how to make it be a victory condition. But another cool way to realize this (as long as it doesn't have to be a victory condition) would be to mod it in as a bunch of events.
The events system would be well suited to handle this, it already has the "greed" quest where you have to acquire culture in opponents' territory to get their resources. You could also just make very large rewards for these events like tons of gold, research or promotions, which would be analogous to a victory. PS. If you haven't already, check out Rhyes and Fall of Civilization mod. It has unique historical victories for each civ, which are very imaginative and may be what you're looking for. |
