While running WinMe on my computer, there are certain programs running continuously in the background, sucking up precious resources, that serve absolutely no purpose I'm aware of. By pressing CTRL ALT DEL I can see a list of these programs. Some sample names are:
Cpqeadm Motmon Wkcalrem Hpoopm07 Devgulp etc. How can I get rid of these? I am pretty sure that these programs are not anything I am using. They might be spyware because I use Kazaa, but I downloaded a program that was supposed to get rid of spyware. None of these programs appear on the taskbar (to the left of the clock) and they are not in the Start-up folder. Can I get rid of them without doing any harm to my computer, and if so how? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Click Start --> Run --> MSCONFIG
Click on the "Startup" tab. Then uncheck the programs you don't want starting.
