Any fans fo the RPG series Ultima out there? I have been creating the scenario for it since Civ2 and now on Civ4Warlord. I have been at it for more than 2 months, since I do not have much time on Civ (a pitiful 6-12hours/week) and spent some time figuring out the xmls!!
I'm at the final stages now and will be testing out game balance, etc.

Setting is of course on the continent of Britannia created on a Large Map. There are ten factions, the eight city states, pirates and Gargoyles. The scenario background is about the breakup of the 8 citystates from the rule of Lord British who you will play as. The other citystates has rebeled due to the influence of the Fellowship against the long-standing Way of the Avatar. Mission: reunite his kingdom! You will have the Avatar and his Warlord companion units to assist you. The extent of modication are UU assignment from within the game (chg stats, switch graphics), wonders, religion, tech slowdown, some rules for game balance. Will be updating more. This is also the time for last minute feedbacks! :)

I think he meant he had been doing similar Ultima scenarios since CivII. I don't know if CivII used XML...

Of course, he did drop this bombshell and then disappear... :(

bombshell??
I just told him that if he wants he can take inspiration from my civ2 work on the same theme.
Isn't that a clear message?

I was talking about bringing up the fact he was creating this mod and then he never posted anything else. Or is the clear message not for me?

hi, I'm here! I'm a workingclass guy putting 12-14hrs a day, so it makes it had to find time to surf and even play Civ! TQ for the attention!
Gotta put up something now to show:

Let's see how to add an image:

This is Brennus aka Lord British :) Looks like the closest to the real thing.

It's real! ;)

Not that they are ideal, but I just made 8 Virtue Statues for another mod. They might be good with a reskin for your Virtue landmarks (assuming you'll have them).

Some excerpt from the readme file I'm editing..

The story...
"Battlecrys are once again heard in the ancient kingdom of Britannia. Lord British has lost hold of his kingdom with the breakaway of seven city-states. Lord British who preaches the Way of the Avatar and its Eight Virtues is now under siege in the city Britain that is being attacked from all sides. The renegade states are under the influences of a rising movement known as The Fellowship and Britannia is not big enough for both. The mutinuos city states are some lead by warlords who were once companion of the Avatar who have turned against him. Once again, the Avatar, champion of Britannia is called upon to fight off the hostile forces against Lord British. Through the mystic Moongates, the Avatar has arrived in the spiritual holdout of Stonegate east of Britain to the waiting arms of his close companions - Sir Dupre, Lord Shamino, Iolo the Bowyer and their ragtag band of disciples who are still loyal to king and believers of the Way of the Avatar. The city of Britain, capital of Britannia is unfortunately sited on central plains of the kingdom meaning it vulnerable to be attacked from all sides. Paladins of Trinsic to the south, Rangers of Skara Brae to the west, Druids of Yew from the north and Tinkers of Minoc from the east are closing in, threatening the outskirt towns such as Paws and Cove. The royal regiments are just about to be deployed from the royal castle in Britain, can they stop or even survive the onslaught? Can the Avatar and his comrades save Britain in time? All are in your hands.

Scenario designed to play as Lord British ruler of the Bards of Britain with the aim on taking back all that was once his, it means every city, outpost and dungeons. You have four special characters to assist you, Avatar and three of his closest companions. All are Warlords will special promotions with strength range of 7-8. Your immediate concern is to put up a defence as much as you can as attacks comes from all angles. Your heroes are off-positioned and you need to rush them to where help is needed most."

I'd realized I have not looked through all the available characters in the Warlord scenarios (coz I haven't play most of it). I'm currently using the same Samurai unit for the Warlord units Avatar, Dupre and Shamino. Need to see if I can diversify the graphics. Iolo is using the the Chinese UU.

Btw the way, how to make an image show on the body of the thread? I think I need to get it hosted on an url 1st...

Thanks Rhye and Woodelf for your offer of resources.

Woodelf, you mean the skin to replace the leader pix? I used images from all other world leaders. All my resources are within the warlord game.

Use the Upload option above. Copy the link it gives and then in the thread type "
" without quotes.

I'm expecting it to return a link after uploading the file, it doesn't seems so... am I missing something here? Sorry for being such a noooob :p

I meant using these as Virtue Shrines, but I might find pics and make something better.

If you successfully uploaded something you should be able to click on the Upload button now and it'll show you what you have uploaded in table form. Right click the .jpg, .rar, .zip file and then paste it into the IMG tags as stated above.

Woodelf, kool shrines!! Anyway, I wouldn't be going that way, that is like heavy duty modding :)
I was looking thru what I can get from Warlord scenarios and came across the symbol of the Ankh in the Alexander scenario. Perfect fit for the 'religion' of Way of Avatar. Then I realise the religion symbol on top of the city name on the mapview is not change and I have to use the graphics tga file from Alexander scenario. But since the sequence of the religion is different from what is in religion xml file and from what I have setup in all the towns on the map, it took me one afternoon to correct everything :(
I was replacing the real world religion buildings temple/ monastery/cathedral by replacing it's art file from the other buildings such as Mint, Terrace, etc to eliminate religion markings but certain graphics I have selected gave OVERSIZE buildings in city on the map view. Any idea what causes that? I have to revert some back to original ones to avoid this issue.

I do not have BTS, so this scenario is on Warlords only. I has always prefer medieval settings, did not purchase BTS. ALmost did but on my last visit to the local shop, it sells Civ4+2exp in a special edition that cost more. Didn't buy...
