Graphic problem - No HUD nor menus
Hi! New to the forum, hope someone can help me.
I recently upgraded my computer and installed Vista on it. Installed my copy of Civ4 + BTS and started a custom game. Problem is, I don't have a HUD or menus! When I press ESC the menu comes up, but when I try to click on preferences everything disappears. Same with "Quit Game", nothing happens. Everything else looks fine, but it's kinda hard to play without any menus and anything. Installed all the patches + bruichs patch. Here's my comp diagnostics: Operating System: Windows Vista™ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.071023-1545) Language: English (Regional Setting: Swedish) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ (2 CPUs), ~2.3GHz Memory: 2046MB RAM Page File: 1024MB used, 3290MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6000.16386 32bit Unicode Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce 8800 GT DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0611&SUBSYS_82611043&REV_A2 Display Memory: 1246 MB Dedicated Memory: 479 MB Shared Memory: 767 MB Current Mode: 1440 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor Driver Name: nvd3dum.dll,nvwgf2um.dll Driver Version: 7.15.0011.6925 (English) DDI Version: 9Ex Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 12/11/2007 17:06:00, 5263360 bytes Really hope someone can help me with this as I love the game and I'm going crazy when I can't play it! |

good idea to bump since that reminded me of this
though of course this one is much cuter:![]() anyway please open your my games/beyond the sword/civilizationIV.ini and set all items with "log" in their name from 0 to 1 and set hydepythonexceptions from 1 to 0 then start a game and after you have seen that the HUD/menus are missing close it again and post the contents of your my games/beyond the sword/logs directory as a zip file. you can attach files by clicking on go advanced and then on manage attachments below the reply box. |

there are a few dozen python errors in you log - you probably saw them as popups
anyway you have installed quite a few mods - civ4lerts, sevopedia etc. sounds like the BUG mod, right? I'd blame either a corrupt or not updated file from those - it is the .dll probably since most of those errors seem to come from one there. You probably should make sure the mod is correctly installed and if that does not help post this log in the thread that maintains this mod

actually your problem is that some of the mod files are loaded by default - most likely because they sit in your custom assets. Also did you alter/change the CvGameCoreDLL.dll?

Not intentionally, no. Haven't touched it AFAIK. But I will just have to reinstall the game again I guess to try it with a fresh install. Thanks for the help!
