Computer viruses hit one million

Computer viruses hit one million

The vast majority of viruse are aimed at Windows machines

The number of viruses, worms and trojans in circulation has topped the one million mark. The new high for malicious programs was revealed by security firm Symantec in the latest edition of its bi-annual Internet Security Threat Report. The vast majority of these programs have been created in the last twelve months, said Symantec.

One million different viruses, trojans and etc? Thats not a small number. Even if 50% of those are active, whenever you connect to the internet with no firewall or antivirus, you can potentially get infected with 500,000 different bad things. Thats nothing to laugh at.
