Simple question...
Hi, I am new to civ and the forums. I have found your articles/guides extremely helpful, thanks to everyone for all the hard work. I had found the game very frustrating and not much fun, until I learned the mechanics.
One small thing has been bugging me, and I can't find the answer anywhere: what causes the unhappiness "AAAAAAGH!!!"

Yeah, I think the most common event that causes that is the "wacky professor" one--one of the options gives you a free academy, but +2
in that city... permanently. The first time I encountered it, I thought the unhappiness would be temporary, like from whipping, but nooooooo...

Unhappiness is a normal part of your city's growth. The bigger it gets, the more people will start to complain that "It's too crowded." It's just one of the mechanisms that have been part of Civilization since the very first one. All you need to do is build some structures that make people happy or provide some luxury resources, like Gold or Wine. There are other sources of unhappiness of course, like the events mentioned or War Weariness, but the one caused by city growth is the main one.

Willem, in this case he's speaking about unhappiness showing as "AAAAAAAAGH", not the overcrowding one
