Poll: What NES should I do?

The options are the following:

1- A Cultures and Nations OR Cultures NES. Unlike most Culture NESes, it would continue through history, and emphasise play as the culture, not the nation. From a Nation perspective, it would be a normal NES.

2- Rome NES. The players would be military commanders in the Roman Empire, with their own internal power struggles. At first they would have to contend with each other and the Sassanids, but eventually the barbarians arrive...

3- Dynasty NES. The players play dynasties, and try to further their dynasty, not their nation.

4- Institutions NES. The players create city states within the basic model of the Greek polis. Instead of playing whole nations, however, the players play Institutions (e.g- The Monarchy, The Senate, and so on), trying to further their institution's power within the system.

CLARIFICATIONS: Will come as people ask questions, and in response to ones already asked on the New NES Ideas and Development Thread.

SECOND NEW IDEA:
Instead of deciding myself when to do BTs, the players will get to vote on and propose BTs at any time.

I'm interested in the cultures one. However, some basic rules and stuff would help me understand it better.

The Cultures NES would have aspects of North King's and Symphony D's, but would continue for longer. Instead of playing a single nation, the player would play a culture, but have less ability to make national decisions. (e.g- direct diplomacy, what nation to attack, and so on).

To use terms from Symphony D's NES, the player could alter Tenets, Society, and Values. They could also alter things like government, military doctrines, found religions, and so on. They would use DaftNES style spending points as well.

I'm not sure whether to include playing nations as well, but I'm leaning towards it. (I'd use DaftNES style rules). They could also attempt to reform and alter the culture itself, though the culture's player could fight back in various ways.

Will the Dynasties NES be played on earth or a non-earth map?

I was originally planning non-Earth, but I am willing to change that.

Anyway, how many people are interested in combining a Dynasties NES with a Cultures or Institutions NES?

As it probably was, I will admit it. IN ALL PROBABILITY, LUCKYMOOSE GETS THE CREDIT FOR THE DYNASTIES IDEA.

Luckymoose, maybe you should do the Dynasties NES and I can remove it from the poll.

Yeah, I changed my mind about wanting a culture NES. I now support the Dynasties NES.

O.K- If Luckymoose doesn't do a Dynasty NES (I think it was his idea), then I will unless the votes turn around a bit.

O.K, I'll start turning this into a rules discussion thread.

1- I propose the setting be a single region, either a custom (fictional) region, an ATL region, or a region from actual history.

2- I propose a democratic BT system. We can have a BT of whatever time length if the majority of players vote for it.

3- Should I combine this with the Institutions NES idea?

4- Should I try and make more ideas for improving the standard rules, or leave it where it's at?

What setting were you thinking of doing for the Dynasties NES? The ancient era does work, but I do like the idea of a baroque period one...

EDIT:

As to 2 - nah, make it on your own discretion.

3 - Make it more of a court politics / intrigue NES than "institutions". Heck, you could make it centered around a few countries in a feudal area...

4 - Always improve.

1- What period is baroque, roughly? If I go with that, I'll make it an ATL- too hard to look up actual historical stats.

2- I disagree. If BTs happen at the player's discretion, they are more likely to like the results.

3- Court politics works. Perhaps the NES could focus on dynasties of non-rulers as well? A player might be an explorer, general, or something.

4- New ideas coming.

I'm trying to cut down on the amount of time I spend on NESing, but I would join the polis one if properly implemented.

1600ish. Not a common time to have NESes around, and there might be good reason for that. On the other hand, there might not be.

I don't really understand how dynasty NES will work.. will it not essentially be a nrmal NES except you write in your orders for your leader to have lots of sex?

What will contol how successful a dynasty is?
