I'm new to this

I just picked up Colonization as one of the "other" games in a 4 pack. I like Civ II a lot, but have not even installed Colonization. Wha are the pros and cons compared to Civ II?

J

PS The game I wanted, was Sid Miers "Gettysburg", and it won't run at all. Are there Windows XP issues with Colonization?

Probaly so.. colonization is a DOS based sytem lol good luck try to get it to run right off with XP.
However I would go to the trouble of trying to make it run as colonization is one of my all time favourite games. I'm sure you probaly know the plot colonzie America. The game is actually very deep considering relations with Indians ans trade and Military aspects are combined so well. Well good luck with running it if you need help with install ask here or in the PC help section.

Not necessarily. I have a Civ 1/ Col two-pack, and it comes with both in their DOS versions and their Win versions.

So it could be possible to run in XP. I wouldn't know, since I'm in ME.

Colonization is one of those games where the crap DOS graphics hardly count for anything. I didn't get into Colonization until very late myself, and regretted not holding any interest in it earlier (but of course, back then I was just a kid interested only in side-scrolling platform games and Wolfenstein).

Nowadays, I can honestly say that Colonization is still a game worth playing and replaying even with other Sid Meier games like SMAC and Civ III well within reach.
