this and that
Picked up FFHII again after more than 6 months. Iīm impressed, as usual, by the continuous improvement of this mod. As I said already in the past, keep it up. Itīd be hard to do better.
After my first game, a comment and a question. Played around 500 turns, epic speed, with the option that doubles events on. Not so much going on, however, except for a constant flow of messages informing me about "the sign of blablabla moved into blablabla, thatīs a bad omen blabla". Seems a little boring... I remember that in a very old version of the mod there was a screen - sort of a grid - in the diplomacy menu in which it was possible to see what each leader thought of the others. This disappeared. Why? I found it quite useful, rather than having to ask each guy what they think of other guys. |

Man !!!
I asked for exactly the same thing (some months ago) and... nobody answered. Kinda weird. That screen was awesome and vewy vewy useful, in my opinion. I miss it badly, and can't understand why it's off. Last edited by JFred; Jul 01, 2008 at 11:48 AM. Reason: missing letters |

I always liked using that too. I believe that the BtS 3.13 patch removed it, but I don't really know why.

Kael's the one who can best answer this, of course, but I think what you're talking about is the Enhanced Foreign Advisor (or something like that) mod component.
Could be that there's no BtS version of that modcomp, which is why it's not in the new versions of FfH. |

I said the BtS 3.13 patch, not the more recent 3.17. That mean it was removed as of FfH 0.25 (0.24 and 0.25 were the beta versions of the conversion to BtS), before the Shadow phase even began.

I'm pretty sure it's still there, unless you are thinking of something different than I. The foreign advisor's default screen has your leaderhead at the top, and all other leaders in a semi circle beneath. Lines extend from you to other leaders, and from other leaders to each other, indicating what treaties they have with each other (none, open borders, war, alliance, etc). You can also click on a leader, then mouse over another leader to see what the second leader thinks of the first, and all the modifiers that goes into it.
I'd provide an image, but I can't seem to take screenshots. The print screen button just comes up "ScreenShot Failed". This is .32i with no mods. |

The "At a Glimpse" screen was removed in 3.13 because it "didn't look good enough".

Its the "Glance" screen. Firaxis merged the Exotic Foreign Advisor into BtS but they commented out the Glance screen (I tihnk for aesthedic reasons, its kinda an ugly screen).
But its easy enough to uncomment, its literally just the deletion of one comment character. It will be in the next patch.

@Magister
My mistake, I didn't remember when the foreign advisor changed. @Kael Thanks for the clarification, and for planning to add the "Glance" back in the next patch. |

I find I don't need that so much now that 3.17 displays most hated leader and wars in the diplomacy screen tooltips.
Single best feature of 3.17 IMO; when someone offers vassalhood, it *tells* me that they're actually at war with my big uber good friends before I accept and trigger a war. |

I don't see how it's any uglier than the screen-filling lines in the regular foreign relations screen. Plus, it's far more useful.
