Please explain this....

I was messing arround with the editor and made it so all cities get free harbor with the Magellen's Wonder. What happened is ALL my cities (including all the landlocked cities) got harbors. How is this possible if the harbor is a "Costal building"?

Same reason all cities get a Hydro Plant from Hoover damn, even ones in the middle of the desert nowhere near a river...

Because you edited it to make "all" your cities have harbors.

This doesn't worry me, this peculiarity of the game. If by the time you finish Magellan's you don't have harbors anyway you are not doing well.

Now see if the same thing happens with the Lighthouse. I thought of making the same edit to it just to see, but didn't.

Oh I got harbors! Like I said, I was just screwing arround to see if the Magellen wonder gave all cities a harbor (like in Civ II). Imagine my surprize when the city of denver (5 tiles from the nearest ocean) had a little anchor by the city name. I click the city and that creepy eyeball on the city screen and there is my landlocked harbor!! Just cant seem to launch any ships from there tho'.

Magellan's Voyage in CivII gave you an extra 2 movement points on ships, not a free harbor.

yes i think they know that they are talking about changing it on the editor to make the magellen wonder give a horbor in every city

I think if you click must be near water that makes it only sea towns that get the harbor but im not sure i heard it from somewhere

The Soviet Union has harbours in landlocked cities... they are on the sea of prosperity that communism has brought to their land.

Hmmm...ignore him, and let his clearly uninformed and misremembered information go, or slap him down like the red patsy he is.

I vote slap.

The single greatest example of Soviet/Communist prosperity is viewing the earth from the nighttime sky, and seeing the bastion of North Korea totally in darkness. That, and witnessing the utter and total defeat of anyone caught using Soviet era weaponry - what's the score between Soviet and Western gear, I think the air tally is like 300-0... not a single front-line western combat aircraft has been downed in air-to-air action. I could build a shopping mall with the wreckage of Soviet MiGs...
